Nasima J. Amin, M.D. (Specialized in Child & Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry)
Dr. Amin has been practicing medicine for over 25 years. She completed her General psychiatry residency and Child & Adolescent psychiatry fellowship from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), serving as a chief resident. Dr. Amin is board-certified from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She served as an Emergency Psychiatry attending as well as Associate Medical Director at the department of mental health at UAB. She also served as Child & Adolescent psychiatry attending at Children’s of Alabama. She worked as Staff Psychiatrist and Physician Utilization Management Advisor at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center.
Dr. Amin is the recipient of multiple clinical excellence and leadership awards including VISN 7 Clinical Executive Leadership Award. She is also specialized in Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. She is accredited to prescribe buprenorphine (Suboxone) for opioid use disorder. She enjoys caring for children and adults with depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, autism and attention deficit disorders.

M.Aminul Islam, M.D., Dr. P.H. (Specialized in Adult and Addiction Psychiatry)
Dr. Islam has been practicing medicine for over 35 years. He completed his M.P.H., Dr. P.H., and Psychiatry residency from UAB, focusing on mental health research. He worked as a clinical and research faculty at the UAB Department of Psychiatry and School of Public Health. Dr. Islam is board-certified from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He specialized in Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) and served as ECT Director at UAB.
Dr. Islam is specialized in treating substance use disorders using Buprenorphine (Suboxone). He also served as Staff Psychiatrist at the VA Medical Center. His special interest is to provide affordable and convenient psychiatric treatment via Telepsychiatry.
He was the recipient of multiple clinical and academic excellence awards during his career including the Clinical Executive Leadership Award from the Veterans Health Administration. His many interests include psychotherapy, ADHD treatment, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance abuse disorders.
Zahid Husain, M.D. (Specialized in Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry)
Dr. Husain is board-certified psychiatrist who has been practicing psychiatry for over 20 years. He completed General psychiatry residency at UAB where he also worked as a clinical and teaching faculty. He served as Staff Psychiatrist at the VA Medical Center for 11 years. Later on he moved his practice to many rural communities in Alabama. He worked for multiple private hospitals including Brookwood Medical Center and Riverbend Center of Mental Health.
Dr. Husain has special interests in treating psychiatric disorders for the geriatric population. He also practices Telepsychiatry to provide high quality psychiatric care to adult and elderly patients. He is the recipient of multiple clinical and academic excellence awards. His interests include psychotherapy, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and dementia & other cognitive disorders.
